Hanuman Chalisa is a poetic composition in praise of Hanuman, consisting of 40 Shlokas, penned by Goswami Tulasidas. It is believed that he composed the Hanuman Chalisa during the Kumbhamela in Haridwar while in a state of Samadhi.

According to one story, Ravana confined Shani in a prison in Lanka after being cautioned about the potential malevolent influence of Lord Shani. When Hanuman visited Lanka, he liberated Shani from captivity. In gratitude, Shani pledged that devotees who worship Hanuman will be safeguarded from his adverse effects.
