Hanuman Chalisa is a poetic composition in praise of Hanuman, consisting of 40 Shlokas, penned by Goswami Tulasidas. It is believed that he composed the Hanuman Chalisa during the Kumbhamela in Haridwar while in a state of Samadhi.

When Hanuman visited Lanka, he liberated Shani from captivity. In gratitude, Shani pledged that devotees who worship Hanuman will be safeguarded from his adverse effects.
